And this is how Rainbow Legacy, my 5th studio album starts.

The story of Rainbow Legacy takes us all the way into the MLP G5 dystopian timeline.
The good Pegasi folk have found the remains of what once was called Cloudsdale. Of part of it at least.

Legend says Cloudsdale fell from the sky when the magic was lost in Equestria, and its ruins remained lost for centuries.
Allegedly. This is fanfiction after all.

After finding what seemed to be the ruins of the weather factory, the brave Pegasi explorers found out that some machines of ancient technology still had power.

Perhaps it was the return of magic what powered on the machines, or perhaps they recognized the presence of the kind which created them.
And after all this time the machines could still generate what seemed forever lost to Equestria; liquid rainbows.

Liquid rainbows once filled the Equestrian skies from border to border. Great stories are still being told about their majestic beauty, or how the legendary Rainbow Dash committed war crimes in one of the factories.

Little did the Pegasi explorers knew how attractive the smell of the fresh rainbows would be, whispering to their little pony ears, begging them to taste the rainbow straight from the source.
Irresistible. And just like a good wine, liquid rainbows age very well.
Just a little sip of the rainbow will leave you with the biggest question a Pegasi can ask; how high you can go?

Rainbow Legacy technically started before Tiny Sky. My original plan was to release both albums with a week of difference. Back then Tiny Sky was supposed to have around 6-8 tracks, and Rainbow Legacy around 8.
Also, Rainbow Legacy was supposed to be fully D&B, however, just as Tiny Sky ended up being a full concept album with 21 tracks, Rainbow Legacy ended up being whatever genre this is now.

The original idea however stood up. Rainbow Legacy became the spiritual successor of Cloud Seeker.
It is also now home for some unreleased songs which date back to 2020. If you remember my demo sessions, you'll probably recognize some!

As for what is this album trying to tell (besides that CBD is the cure for ADHD); music is a form of expression. It doesn't need to follow rules, it doesn't need to be generic.
The current state of the music industry right now is a mess.
Even world-famous musicians are losing ground and struggling because music is not music anymore, is an experience. People pay for the experience and don't really care for the music itself.
This is why these days everything is so repetitive, we have 50 variations of the same generic thing with loud bass and kicks, and people think this is how music is supposed to be, making them reject anything different.

With this album, I'm giving you the Skyshard experience which is not an experience. This is generic but not generic. Repetitive but not repetitive. It has familiar pony sounds, but also popular music sounds. It has a story, but also doesn't have one.

This album has many different colors.
Like a rainbow. A Rainbow Legacy.
