With no other elevators or doors in sight, the Scientist approached the weird floating rhombus.
The terminals surrounding it came to live. For whatever reason, the tech used here is outdated, but connected to the main network.
Most of the information was encrypted, but one thing was clear. This artifact is called “Atlas of Worlds”, and it was found here, on Earth, and the whole megastructure was built around it, to protect and research it.
Anyone who touched the artifact, disappeared forever without a trace.
A loud noise gets lost in the air around the floating artifact. The military has breached into the corridor leading to this room. The scientist has no escape. By intuition, he approaches The Atlas, and the artifact comes to life, shinnying up a hundred golden dots and lines. Without knowing what he is doing, the scientist touches one of the dots. The military breaks into the room, only to find it empty.
